Jason was offered a job with CVS in New Hampshire on October 28th, 2011. The process started a couple months before that, when he was asked by his current regional manager if he would like to work for CVS and what states he would like to work in.
We quickly put our heads together and come up with a list similar to this...
1. Montana
2. Maine
3. Rhode Island
4. Upstate New York
5. North Carolina
After submitting this list Jason didn't hear anything for a couple of weeks. And then he did, from northern Nevada. We were a little miffed at that. He politely declined and asked again who he should talk to about East Coast states. He finally made contact with an individual in NH. After one phone interview he was offered the job! We have the choice between three southern-coastal cities. Portsmouth, Dover, or Manchester.
He graduates in May and will more than likely be moving out there right after the graduation. I am a bridesmaid for a best friend in June and have no desire to leave Minnesota until I have stood up for her. Our traveling plans are not really decided yet.
We've started looking at apartments on craigslist, but it's too early to get one now. We've also perused the housing market, but feel too young to do that already! I'm looking in to jobs on a weekly basis, and have my eye on a Hall Director position with UNH in Durham, or the YMCA in either Manchester, Rochester, or Portsmouth, or possibly a Nanny position. I would love to have a job lined up before I get out there, but Jason is okay with me waiting until we are out there and settled.
Right now I'm excited about Jason coming home from Georgia for Christmas break! Time with him is my favorite Christmas gift.
The next post we will give you some wikipedia information on New Hampshire and maybe compare it a little to Minnesota.
